Our Story
Savāra was born out of friendship, family roots, and a shared belief in the power of pure, natural ingredients.
Dr. Mahesh, a seasoned health, safety, and environmental professional, is also a passionate traveler and travel writer. With every journey he took across continents, he explored not just landscapes, but cultures, flavors, and the essence of local traditions. His wife, Soumia, hails from the spice-rich hills of Kattapana, Kerala—a land where the scent of cardamom, pepper, and jeerakam fills the air. During visits home, they would bring back handpicked spices from their family’s farms—spices untouched by chemicals and full of vibrant life.
In Saudi Arabia, their friends were amazed. “This is better than anything we get in the market!” they would say. What began as thoughtful gifts soon planted the seed of a bigger dream—to bring this natural goodness to kitchens around the world.
Mahesh reached out to his longtime friend and colleague, Raju Divakaran, with whom he had shared years of professional camaraderie in Dubai and Qatar. By then, Raju was running a restaurant and was growing increasingly disillusioned by the poor quality of spices flooding the market. His deep love for authentic flavors, nature, and clean, honest food made him instantly resonate with the idea.
